Bawu Wind Loop

Behind the music:

The Bawu is a traditional Chinese wind instrument, played like a flute but using a reed similar to a clarinet. It’s made from bamboo and has a mellow, expressive sound often used in folk music from Yunnan. Unlike most flutes, you blow through it with your mouth fully sealed around the pipe. The metal reed vibrates inside, giving it a voice-like tone. Though mostly used in Chinese music, it’s found its way into film scores and modern compositions too.
